Miley Cyrus Hit With A Lawsuit; Photographer Sues Her For Allegedly Stealing His Picture And Posting On Her Instagram
Being a celebrity comes with a lot of pros and cons. While it does mean having a lot of fans and too much luxury, being in the public eye is very difficult. Celebs are often followed by paparazzi who click their pictures at events, award functions; and while the pictures may be theirs, that doesn’t mean they have rights to the pictures. In the past, many celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Gigi Hadid, Khloe Kardashian, among others have been sued for posting paparazzi snaps on their social media without permission. Now, Miley Cyrus has been sued by a photographer for allegedly stealing his picture.

According to a report in Page Six, a lawsuit was filed against Miley Cyrus for allegedly stealing a photographer’s snap of her. The picture was shot by the photographer at New York Fashion Week, and Miley Cyrus had posted it on her Instagram account. The picture showed Miley Cyrus wearing a white crop top with black stripes on them, paired with black slacks and red boots. As per the lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court, Miley was clicked while exiting after the Marc Jacobs show on February 12.

The picture posted by Miley on her Instagram had about 2,618,259 likes. The suit also names Miley Cyrus’ company, and seeks a sum of 150,000 dollars in damages. Lawyer Richard Liebowitz wrote in the suit, “Defendants ran the photograph on their website to promote their brand. Defendants did not license the photograph … nor did defendants have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the photograph.”

In other news, after George Floyd’s murder, Miley Cyrus took to her Instagram and expressed her anger, demanding justice for George Floyd. She wrote, “Like so many of you, I am angry, outraged and heartbroken about the injustice in our country that has been going on for way too long- centuries & generations. To my fans, each one of us has a voice—I’m asking you to please use it right now.” ALSO READ: Miley Cyrus Reveals She Washed Her Hair THIS Many Times In The Last 4 Months; The Number Will Leave You In Shock
